We were honored to welcome members of the Edison Police Department and Edison Fire Department, along with several special guests, including Dr. Patrick Kissane, Director of School Safety & Security, veteran, and former police officer; Mr. Rob Robinson, Assistant Principal of John P. Stevens High School and veteran; Edison Police Detective Vincent Sardone; HHMS Security Officers Mr. Trentacosti and Mr. Ruda; and Business Administrator Mr. Jonathan Toth.

During the breakfast, Student Council officers shared speeches expressing their appreciation for our community’s first responders, thanking them for their courage, dedication, and the important role they play in keeping our community safe.

As we gathered on Patriot Day, we also took time to remember the events of September 11, 2001, honor the lives that were lost, and recognize the extraordinary bravery and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call that day. Their heroism continues to remind us of the importance of service, courage, unity, and community.

Herbert Hoover Middle School and the HHMS Student Council extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our guests and local heroes who helped make our inaugural Patriot Day Breakfast so meaningful. We are grateful for your service today and every day and look forward to making this special event an HHMS tradition for years to come.
