Dear Eighth Grade Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of the Herbert Hoover Middle School faculty and administration, we are pleased to invite you to our 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. This special event celebrates our eighth-grade students' hard work, achievements, and their transition to high school. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to sharing this milestone with you.

To comply with safety and fire regulations, two separate ceremonies will be held in our new air-conditioned gymnasium. Students are assigned to a ceremony based on their Period 1 class.

Blue Wristbands – 9:00 a.m. Ceremony

Doors open at 8:45 a.m.

Yellow Wristbands – 11:00 a.m. Ceremony

Doors open at 10:45 a.m.

Students will receive two guest wristbands on Friday, June 12. Wristbands are required for admission and will not be replaced if lost or stolen. Babies and small children who can sit on a parent's lap do not require a wristband. Please review the information enclosed with your child's wristbands to confirm your assigned ceremony.

Student Arrival

All students should report to school at the regular time of 8:20 a.m. Bus students should ride their regular bus.

Parent Arrival and Parking

9:00 a.m. Ceremony

Parents may begin parking on campus at 8:30 a.m.
Please do not enter the side parking lot before 8:30 a.m., as buses will be unloading students.
Parents may line up beginning at 8:40 a.m.

11:00 a.m. Ceremony

Parents should arrive between 10:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
Please do not arrive before 10:30 a.m., as the first ceremony will still be dismissing.

Parents and guardians for both ceremonies should enter through the cafeteria doors located on the side of the building.

Parking will be available in the school lots and, weather permitting, on the rear field. If all parking spaces are full, please park on the street.

Following the Ceremony

After the ceremony, students will exit the gymnasium and be dismissed for the remainder of the day. Parents and guardians should meet their children outside on the side of the building and then proceed directly to their vehicles to help maintain traffic flow and allow parking for the next ceremony.

Additional Information

June 16 is a single-session day, and students should be taken home following their ceremony.
It has long been a tradition for students to dress up for Promotion. Students must follow Board Policy #5511 - Dress and Grooming
Although the gymnasium is air-conditioned, temperatures may still be warm. Please dress accordingly.
A vendor will be on site selling flowers and water.
Commencement gifts are available for pre-order, and online purchases may be picked up on the day of Promotion.

This is an exciting time for our eighth-grade students as they conclude their middle school years and begin a new chapter. We thank you for your cooperation and look forward to celebrating with you on June 16, 2026.
