Scheduling for Current 6th and 7th Graders:

Please review the elective information with your child and discuss their interests and abilities regarding these classes.  Every effort will be made to accommodate the selections made for your child, but they are not guaranteed.

HHMS' school counseling team will meet with every student individually during the month of March during their PE or Health classes to verify their top 3 elective choices. If students have any questions about the electives offered, they should wait to ask those questions at their individual meeting

Scheduling for Current 8th Graders:

The Scheduling Portal to make 2026-2027 elective choices will open February 24th at approximately 10 am and close on March 3rd at 3 pm. Please sit with your child and discuss their interests, abilities, and graduation requirements. Electives are based on availability, so indicate your top five choices in order of importance.  Do not make separate top choices based on VPA or 21CL. Pick one #1, one #2, etc no matter what category those electives are in. DO NOT PICK MORE THAN ONE #1 CHOICE! Select carefully because there are no elective changes after June 1st. You must complete your elective selection in the portal by March 3, but it is not “first-come, first-served.”

For example:

 #1=Dance, #2=Business Apps (Semester) and #2 Personal Finance (Semester), #3=Choir, #4=TV Production, #5=Java

Here is some information to help you:

If you wish to change your child's recommended World Language, you must submit a written request to your child's middle school counselor. Available World Languages are: Spanish, French, Italian, Latin, and Mandarin.  All beginning World Language courses are level one.

No World Language or elective changes will be honored after June 1.

We have an exciting partnership with Middlesex College, where you can earn an Associate Degree or credits toward college. If you may be interested, you should complete this interest form by the end of March. Here is a link to the district website with information about the program.

HHMS' school counseling team will meet with every student individually during the month of March during their PE or Health classes to verify their top 5 elective choices, world language choice, and all other high school course offerings. If students have any questions about the high school course offerings, they should wait to ask those questions at their individual meeting.
